Temporary To Permanent Opportunity. This role will require a February start. This will initially be a weekly paid assignment that will convert to a permanent role. You will be joining a well-established (and friendly) team and supporting a hands-on and forward-thinking manager who welcomes new ideas and perspectives. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller looking to hit the ground running to add value in an ever-evolving organisation.

Credit Controller Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and take responsibility for the end-to-end credit control process for a large and varied group ledger of regional and blue-chip accounts.
  • Set up new accounts, ensuring that credit checks have been completed and recorded.
  • Establish and review existing customers' credit limits to eliminate risk.
  • Proactively chase current and aged outstanding payments via telephone and email.
  • Proactively resolve billing queries or disputes to ensure the prompt payment of outstanding amounts.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers to reduce aged and bad debt and minimise late payments.
  • Collaborate with the wider business to ensure queries are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Generate weekly management reports, providing commentary on overdue amounts and cash position.
  • Support continual improvements projects, ensuring efficiencies within the department and the wider business.
  • Take ownership of escalated issues/queries, following legal bad debt proceedings as required.

Credit Controller Required Experience:

  • Established experience in an end-to-end Credit Control position, ideally in a senior capacity.
  • Exposure to working in a larger group business environment, overseeing a ledger of regional and blue-chip business accounts.
  • The ability to take ownership of complex queries and escalated issues.
  • The ability to effectively prioritise responsibilities in line with business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and confidence to build strong and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computerised systems and Excel skills (intermediate advanced).
  • A commitment to continuous improvements.
  • The ability to confidently troubleshoot problems and make business-critical decisions.
  • The ability to start work on a reduced notice period.
