This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established yet evolving business as they look to enhance their footprint and develop their processes. An ideal opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller looking to add value as part of a newly created team.

Credit Controller Role Overview:

  • Centrally located (Manchester City Centre)
  • Development opportunities in a growing role and business.
  • 1-day WFH with 4 days working in central Manchester
  • There will be an initial requirement to travel out to regional business sites
  • An excellent time to join a highly successful business in a period of growth and development.
  • Basic salary up to £32,000

Credit Controller Responsibilities:

  • Proactively chase outstanding current and aged balances to ensure prompt payments and healthy cash flow across a high volume of customer accounts for multiple business entities.
  • Complete new customer and regular credit checks to assess and monitor customer creditworthiness, ensuring that appropriate and up to date credit limits and controls are set.
  • Complete regular reconciliations of customer accounts, ensuring that any discrepancies are promptly resolved, reducing delays to payments.
  • Prepare weekly reporting to the Head of Shared Services to highlight aged debt, cash collection forecasts, and credit exposure.
  • Proactively liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any payment or billing queries.
  • Ensure that the adherence to company credit policies, financial regulations, and data protection requirements are continually maintained.
  • Support continuous improvements projects by identifying opportunities to streamline credit control processes and reduce outstanding debt.
  • Act as the main POC for your assigned ledger of regional accounts, escalating high-risk non-payment cases to management for further action as required.
  • Prioritise workflow inline with business needs, supporting the wider finance team with business-critical tasks as required.
  • Process payments and refunds and raising relevant documentation as required.

Required Credit Controller Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control position is essential.
  • Experience gained within a larger group business environment is highly advantageous.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to build, develop and maintain strong and trusting relationships with both internal business stakeholders and B2B and B2C customers.
  • A proactive approach and mentality to working towards and achieving both team and individual targets.
  • The ability to identify process improvements and efficiencies with the confidence to communicate these effectively to the team.
  • Strong Excel Skills (intermediate and above, inclusive of V look up and pivot tables).
  • Strong computerised system skills; previous use of Business Central or Nav based packages is highly advantageous.
  • A positive, motivated and customer focussed approach to tasks and duties.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise business demands accordingly.
  • A team focussed approach and mentality.
  • The role will require some initial regional travel and so a full driving license or the ability to commute to regional locations is essential.
  • CICM qualifications are advantageous although not essential.
