A North Manchester organisation is seeking an Interim Management Accountant to join on a minimum 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension and longer-term opportunity. This is a hands-on role supporting a busy finance function during a period of increased reporting demand and month-end pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet)
- Full ownership of the month-end close process
- Production and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, debtors, creditors, intercompany)
- Preparation of variance analysis and commentary
- Support with VAT return preparation and submission
- Assistance with budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Liaising with finance and non-finance stakeholders to support reporting requirements
- Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
- Support with year-end audit preparation and audit queries
- Continuous improvement of month-end processes and reporting controls
Candidate Requirements
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in Management Accounting / Financial Reporting
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end month-end close
- Strong technical ability with balance sheet control and reconciliations
- Confident working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems xehkeey / ERPs
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability
