Accounts Assistant Blackburn Up to Β£30,000pa We are supporting a fantastic client based in Blackburn with a Accounts Assistant opportunity. As a Accounts Assistant you will support the day to day finance function and cover a broad range of transactional accounting and reconciliation activities. This opportunity does offer hybrid working and flexible working hours after a successful probationary period. Responsibilities of the role as a Accounts Assistant: Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigate outstanding and unusual items, and resolve differences arising from foreign currency transactions. Maintain accurate daily cashbook records across multiple entities and currencies, ensuring transactions are posted promptly and correctly. Process, code and review purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate authorisation and timely processing. Support the processing, reconciliation and review of employment-related costs, ensuring information is accurately recorded within the finance systems. Produce debtor and creditor reports, monitor outstanding balances and liaise with relevant teams to resolve queries and follow up overdue items. Process and reconcile supplier and other business payments, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately supported. Reconcile intercompany balances and investigate discrepancies, escalating complex or unresolved issues to Management Accountants where required. Support the preparation of VAT returns and associated working papers for both UK and overseas entities. Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for review. Prepare monthly management information for review by Management Accountants and assist in investigating and resolving queries arising from the review process. Skills/experience essential for the role: Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant/Finance Assistant or similar accounting role. Good understanding of basic accounting principles. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience within a multi-entity or international organisation (advantageous). Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or another ERP system. AAT qualified or studying towards an accounting qualification TPBN1_UKTJ
