We're looking for an Ecology & Forestry Advisor to become our in-house expert on ecology, biodiversity, woodland management, and environmental compliance. What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the development and review of Landscape & Woodland Management Plans across our sites.
- Drive biodiversity enhancement projects, habitat restoration, and conservation initiatives.
- Coordinate ecological monitoring programmes and track measurable environmental improvements.
- Provide expert advice on environmental legislation, protected species, forestry management, and compliance requirements.
- Support planning and development projects through ecological assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Build strong relationships with Natural England, Forestry England, Wildlife Trusts, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Help shape our approach to Biodiversity Net Gain, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
- Deliver training and guidance to operational teams, helping build ecological awareness across the business.
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry, or a related discipline.
- Experience in ecology, forestry, habitat management, conservation, or environmental consultancy.
- Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.
- Experience managing ecological surveys and working with specialist consultants.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions.
- A collaborative approach and genuine passion for protecting and enhancing the natural environment.
- Membership of CIEEM or a relevant professional body would be advantageous.
- Flexible to be on call when required.
