The Transport Coordinator reports directly to the Transport Manager with a dotted line to the Assistant Transport Manager (ATM). The Transport Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating transportation activities within the organization. This role involves managing the logistics of transporting animal feed, optimizing routes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent knowledge of Excel, SAP knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance and FF procedure followed at all times.
  • Collect and manage all drivers' weekly pre-trip check sheets and cleaning records.
  • Compile and complete checks of vehicles serviced using relevant checklist.
  • Ensure all defects raised are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Arrange repair work with local garage & communicate with ATM.
  • Weekly gate-checks of vehicles.
  • Checking and filing PODs each Saturday and end of the month to be archived.
  • Create and manage driver declarations.
  • Populate the driver and vehicle rota.
  • Daily reporting of vehicle utilisation in TUS.
  • Populate Tachomaster days & overall software housekeeping.
  • Feedback positive news and concerns.
  • To accurately raise a purchase order.
  • First line of communication for drivers.
  • Ensure transport planning software is updated following 'on the day' changes to the logistics schedule.
  • Scribing driver interviews.
  • Work within the Company Environmental/Energy Management system.
  • Complete integrum with Hazards and behavioural observations.

  • Comprehensive IT experience – Excel, SAP, Outlook, Flexipod, Ortec, Tachomaster, TUS.
  • Problem solving, stakeholder management and escalating concerns.
  • Good UK Geographical Knowledge.
  • Good People & Communication skills.
