The Night Loading role focuses on the loading and unloading of animal feed products. This role involves working night shifts to ensure timely and accurate preparation of animal feed for delivery, covering operations 7 days a week.
Responsibilities include:
- Loading animal feed into trailers ready for next day delivery.
- Using FLTs to load boxed feed.
- Reporting any defects or arising issues.
- Checking stock against delivery notes.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area.
The Night Loader plays a key role in ensuring our customers receive the correct products on time, every time.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the daily transport operation, ensuring scheduled deliveries are made on time and in full in line with customer SLAs.
- Managing the ‘in flight’ operation to ensure OTIF performance is achieved in line with company targets and post journey analysis through live debriefing of drivers.
- Liaising with Transport Planners to ensure the plan is within the agreed parameters, being achievable, cost effective and in line with industry protocol.
- Promoting the safety culture through appropriate behaviours - hazard evaluations, behavioural observations & near miss reporting.
- Working closely with approved third-party hauliers ensuring consistent service standards are maintained and cost control managed.
- Accurate data input and maintenance of appropriate systems – Tachomaster, Paragon, Fleetboard, Integrum, SAP & TUS.
- Assisting Transport Manager with other general transport activities as required.
- Loading and unloading animal feed products safely and efficiently.
- Preparing and checking orders for accuracy before dispatch.
- Operating pallet trucks or forklifts.
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse, mill and bulk out loading.
- Working as part of a team to meet nightly targets and deadlines.
- Assisting mill operations where required.
- Other ad hoc tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
- CPC National (desirable but the opportunity to acquire will be considered for the right candidate).
- Driving Licence C+E.
- A good standard of secondary school education.
Experience:
- IT awareness/Skills Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of drivers hours.
- Good Geographical Knowledge.
- Good People & Communication skills.
