We have a fantastic opportunity for dedicated Senior Residential Practitioner to join our Residential Children’s Home provisions. ForeverCare provides person-centred support and care for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements.
The Senior Residential Practitioner will be responsible for overseeing each shift and will provide first line management and supervision to the Residential Practitioner on duty to ensure that children and young people receive the best care and support possible. The Senior Residential Practitioner will report directly to the Deputy Manager & Registered Manager.
Person Specification / Requirements
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a Senior / Team leader role. Residential Childcare experience is desirable but Senior & Team Leader experience in other Health & Social Care environments will be considered.
- Most Desirable Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential (Will require no further NVQ).
- Next Desirable Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care (Will require doing 3 units of Children’s Residential Care level three).
- Be committed to achieving the best for children and young people.
- Be able to prioritise workload and duties.
- Be experienced in leading and delegating to the team on duty.
- Be confident in regard to decision making and accountability.
- Be able to work towards achieving the best outcomes for children and young people in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Have an understanding of Care Plans, Risk Assessments and completing these documents.
- Have an understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations.
- Be able to safeguard and protect the wellbeing of children and young people at all times and ensure that Residential Practitioners carry out their duties appropriately at all times.
- Be able to supervise and carry out 1:1 practice-based supervision to team members on an ongoing basis.
- Work collaboratively with other Senior Practitioners and management to ensure the service meets the required standard.
- Act in the absence of the Homes Registered Manager & Deputy Manager and seek approval when required.
- Work as a valued member of the team at all times.
- Be willing to complete training as required.
- Follow Company Policy & Procedure at all times and ensure staff team members conduct themselves appropriately.
- Be confident in challenging inappropriate practices and standards and have a thorough understanding of Safeguarding Procedures.
- Be able to communicate professionally both with staff members and professionals.
- Be outgoing, caring, and compassionate.
- Be able to advocate for the needs, wishes, and views of the young people and children we care for.
