The person we are looking for
We’re looking for a Junior Digital Designer to join our Innovation and Technology team. You’ll be someone who’s excited by digital design, keen to learn, and motivated to create thoughtful, engaging work across different formats and platforms. You’ll have a good eye for layout, typography, and detail, and enjoy bringing ideas to life in a way that feels clear, creative, and on-brand. You’ll be supporting the team across a mix of responsive design, interactive experiences, campaign assets, social content, and presentations, so we’re looking for someone who’s collaborative, curious, and open to feedback. This role would suit a recent graduate or someone with a year or two of industry experience who wants to keep building their skills in a supportive team. Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine enthusiasm for digital design, a willingness to learn, and a portfolio that shows creative thinking and an interest in designing for different devices and formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Reformat and adapt static banner ads across multiple sizes and formats
- Design for interactive experiences and digital campaigns
- Support the team in creating assets for a range of outputs and platforms
- Help maintain and evolve the design system
- Collaborate closely with the team to deliver high-quality design work
- Share ideas, feedback, and creative thinking openly and confidently
- Support stakeholders with presentations and visual materials
- Work with the marketing team to create content and ideas for social media
- Partner with the design team to brainstorm, explore, and develop creative ideas
Experience and Knowledge
- Training or an academic background in graphic design, digital design, branding, or a related discipline
- A portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking and an interest in designing for a variety of devices and formats
- Understanding of brand identity and how to apply and elevate it across digital outputs
- Enthusiasm for dynamic design styles and interactive digital experiences
- Understanding of the full design process, from research and concept development through to final execution and delivery
- Awareness of the core principles, requirements, and limitations of responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
- Strong visual design fundamentals, including layout, typography, colour, and composition
- Ability to interpret briefs and translate ideas into thoughtful, engaging creative work
- Familiarity with social media content and outputs
- Interest in current design trends, emerging techniques, and digital culture
- Awareness of AI Design tools and emerging technologies, and how they can be used to support design workflows and creative development
Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret briefs and work within brand guidelines
- Familiarity with Figma
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Slides, Docs, and Sheets
- Good understanding of AI Design tools, such as Figma Make, Open AI, Gemini Nano Banana, Adobe Generative AI, Midjourney
- Confidence in talking through your design work with the team and applying feedback
- Familiar with Mac OS
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Basic knowledge of UI and UX principles
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
Working hours / requirements
Regular hours: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday. All UK bank holidays will need to be worked and no holiday can be taken that cross over UK bank holidays, to compensate, holiday entitlement has been adjusted up to 30 days plus time off between Christmas Eve and New Year when the business is closed. Any other out of hours work to help support US working hours will be arranged ad hoc in advance with your line manager and time in lieu given in return.
Salary and benefits
£31,000 (in line with London Living Wage). Subsidised Bupa medical care. Cycle to work scheme. Various training schemes to help us all be better. 30 days holiday plus time off between Christmas Eve and New Year when the business is closed. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
