We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Buddy to work in a welcoming Secondary School in Stockport. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils, fostering positive behaviours and aiding their personal development.

The Role

  • Offer tailored 1:1 support to pupils with behavioural needs, helping them engage positively in their learning.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing behaviour strategies and classroom management plans.
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils to help them regulate emotions and behaviours.
  • Provide guidance and interventions to encourage positive social and emotional development.
  • Support pupils during classroom activities, transitions, and break times to ensure consistency and stability.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to adapt strategies and ensure pupil success.

Requirements

  • Has experience supporting children with behavioural needs or working in a similar role.
  • Is calm, empathetic, and skilled in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is proactive, patient, and dedicated to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) - desirable but not essential.
