Behaviour Mentor β Make a Positive Impact
Forever Teaching are working in partnership with a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Tameside, who are looking to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people who may have experienced barriers to education.
The role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in youth work, residential care, behaviour support, sports coaching or education.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Build positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and personal development.
- Use restorative and positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils in and out of the classroom.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support plans.
- Help pupils regulate their emotions and re-engage with learning.
- Promote a safe, structured and respectful learning environment.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or within a PRU or Alternative Provision.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in youth work, residential care, sports coaching, mentoring or education is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
