As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in on behalf of the class teacher to lead pre-planned lessons, keep pupils on task, and maintain a calm, productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher

*

Deliver pre-planned work set by teaching staff and ensure learning objectives are followed

*

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies

*

Engage and motivate pupils, maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere

*

Take registers and follow school safeguarding and health & safety procedures

*

Provide feedback to the school at the end of the day (progress, behaviour, completed work)

*

Support with general classroom routines and expectations

The Ideal Candidate

*

Experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.) is desirable

*

Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour appropriately

*

Calm, professional, and adaptable to different schools and year groups

*

Strong communication skills and the ability to follow school policies

*

A positive xiskglj attitude and commitment to safeguarding
