Forever Education is supporting a social enterprise, providing specialist therapeutic education based in London supporting exceptional neurodiverse children and young people aged 7 to 19 who have special educational needs and disabilities typically associated with autism, social emotional and mental health needs and associated disorders. Most of them will have experienced multiple placement breakdowns and significant trauma, often resulting in behaviour that challenges. On average pupils will have been excluded from other provisions up to three times before reaching the school and had significant periods out of education.
They are looking for a Science Teacher to join their new Keystage 4 and post 16 centre that is opening in April 2026.
Job Description:- Delivering lessons to KS4 and post 16 students that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable, and with defined outcomes that link with their Education, Health and Care Plan.
- Work alongside Therapeutic Education Practitioners (specialist community-based learning mentors) in the planning, preparation and differentiation of all aspects of Science through virtual and small group face to face teaching and learning.
- Link the delivery of the curriculum and link to other aspects of the curriculum (Academic/Vocational, SEMH & ASC, Enrichment, Engagement, Therapeutic) and ensure this is delivered in a nurturing way and according to the Principles of Therapeutic Education.
- Must have QTS / QTLS
- Substantial experience of supporting neurodiverse children or with ASC and/or SEMH and an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
- Working knowledge of National Curriculum, KS requirements and Code of Practice for SEND.
- Knowledge and awareness of Safeguarding & Child Protection Procedures.
