SEN Teaching Assistant – Barking, East London

Start: September 2026 (Long‑term supply, potential permanent from January 2027). Pay: £110‑£125 per day.

Forever Education is supporting a unique independent Special Educational Needs (SEN) group based in London, which provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational and neurodiverse learning needs.

They are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them from September 2026 on a long‑term supply basis through to December 2027 on a full‑time basis.

There is a potential opportunity for a permanent position from January 2027.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, allowing you to adapt quickly to the ever‑changing needs of your students.
  • Experience implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting students with SEMH and ASC.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a deep commitment to ensuring that all students can succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Teaching Assistant Diploma or NVQ, are highly desirable.
