Are you an experienced History Teacher with at least 3 years teaching experience, and looking for a step up to Head of History from September 2025? In the heart of Dunstable, Bedfordshire, a good school is looking for a Head of History to join them from September 2025. This is a full-time permanent position (employed directly by the school).

The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Head of History who is keen to add value to an expanding department. The school is renowned for their supportive SLT and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects. The successful applicant will have a clear vision for the faculty and the strategic leadership skills to deliver improvements. You will be an outstanding practitioner who has the vision, energy and drive to further improve achievement and ensure teaching is of the highest standard across all key stages.

  • MPS 3 - UPS 3 - £35,674 - £49,084 + TLR

Person Specification:

  • Must have QTS or QTLS
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience as a History Teacher
  • Strong academics across the board: Degree, A Levels and GCSEs
  • Must be meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a Good or Outstanding level
  • You must be able to work as part of a large team of Teachers
  • Must be willing to listen to feedback
