What you’ll do…
We’re looking for a Volunteer Administration Officer to support the smooth operation of our volunteering activities at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum. As our Volunteer Administration Officer, you will undertake administrative tasks and serve as a friendly first point of contact for volunteers. Working with the Volunteer Coordinator, you will support team supervisors to deliver volunteer activities that meet business needs and provide a high-quality experience for volunteers.
Where you’ll work…
Westonbirt is one of Britain’s finest botanical tree collections, renowned for its extraordinary trees and historic landscape, which is listed on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens as Grade 1. Founded in the early 19th century by Robert Holford, a plant collector and visionary, the arboretum was transferred to the Forestry Commission in 1956 to conserve and continue its legacy.
The arboretum is a major visitor attraction in the Southwest, welcoming over 550,000 visitors annually and supported by over 35,000 members. Our mission is to connect people with trees to improve quality of life. This role will support the 300+ passionate volunteers involved in all aspects of our work.
Your primary workplace will be Westonbirt Arboretum, with occasional opportunities to work from home, as agreed with your line manager. The role is on a seven-day contract, requiring flexibility to support volunteer activities during weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
