What You’ll Do

Join a friendly team that cares about the environment and enjoys sharing their passion. In this role, you will help promote the work of Forestry England by creating engaging content about how forests are grown and cared for now and for the future. You’ll work with different teams to deliver clear messages, create engaging content and share updates with staff, helping people understand how forests are cared for and wildlife is protected. The role includes sharing important updates internally and supporting communication for projects and changes. It suits someone who enjoys working with others, building good relationships, and communicating clearly.

Where you’ll work

The South England Forest District team is based at Lyndhurst, SO43 7NH. The team comprises around 170 people in diverse roles such as foresters, wildlife rangers, civil engineers, ecologists and marketing professionals. We manage 46,000 hectares of public forest estate from Sussex to Dorset and across Berkshire to the Isle of Wight. Much of this forest is of high national importance for nature conservation and wildlife, and of international importance for biodiversity. South England Forest District is responsible for land with Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas for birds and Ramsar sites for wetlands. We also provide public access and recreation, with nearly 50 million visits each year.
