What you’ll do…

You will manage the Direct production harvesting program. You will be responsible for timber operations meeting industry best practices and health and safety regulations. Implement work programmes meeting the district’s strategic plan for the economy, society, and the environmental and collaborate with other teams.

Where you’ll work…

West Forest District is responsible for the sustainable management of over 37,000ha of the nation’s forests and woodlands in the West and South West of England.

The postholder will be based at our forest office at Bank House, Coleford, Gloucestershire GL16 8BA with an expectation to travel to remotely located woods & forests to support the delivery of the programme as may be required.

Alongside your salary, Forestry England contributes an average of 28.97% towards your pension. You will become a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.
