Job Description:

Senior Ops Manager (Scottish Forestry)

Job description

At Scottish Forestry, we’re leading the way in Scotland’s response to the climate and biodiversity crises. As the national agency for forestry policy, regulation, and investment, we champion woodland creation, sustainable forest management, and economic development across the sector.

About Grampian Conservancy
Grampian Conservancy spans 185,000 hectares of woodland across the stunning landscapes of north-east Scotland—from Brodie in the west to St Cyrus in the south-east, and from the coastline to the Cairngorms.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our leadership team in Huntly. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of forestry in the region and contribute directly to tackling the climate and nature emergencies.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and support a dedicated team, including Operations Managers and the Office Manager, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.
  • Provide strategic insight and guidance on a wide range of operational matters—from woodland creation and grants to regulation, compliance, and policy delivery.
  • Work closely with the Conservator to navigate and influence regional policies and priorities, ensuring sustainable forestry remains at the forefront of land use planning and development.
  • Represent Scottish Forestry across a broad network of stakeholders, advocating for sustainable forest management and woodland expansion.

Why Join Us?
You’ll be part of a passionate, forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. Your work will have a tangible impact on Scotland’s environment, economy, and communities.
