Woodland Carbon Code Coordinator (Scottish Forestry)

Job description

This is an exciting time for the Woodland Carbon Code, the UK’s first globally-endorsed carbon standard. It is leading the delivery of nature-based solutions to the climate emergency, and benefiting local communities across the UK.

The code operates across the UK with Scottish Forestry providing direct support to the operation of the code on behalf of the respective nations.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organized and flexible person to join the Scottish Forestry Woodland Carbon Code team as Co Ordinator.

You will be an integral part of the Woodland Carbon Code team by:

  • working closely with land managers and project developers as they develop new projects;
  • helping us to communicate about the climate-related and other benefits of new woodlands; and,
  • contributing to initiatives to develop the Woodland Carbon Code.

This role offers opportunities to help shape the future of the Woodland Carbon Code and to work in one of the most dynamic parts of the forest sector.

The position is flexible within the UK, with travel to Edinburgh for meetings several times a year.
