Here at Scottish Forestry, we’re at the heart of delivering the Scottish Government’s priorities for forestry, including woodland creation.

If you’re studying forestry or a related discipline and want to build real-world experience, our 12‑month student placement could be the perfect next step. Our student placements are suited to mid-course students who will be returning to full-time studies at the end of the placement.

As part of our team, you’ll gain broad, practical experience by supporting our Woodland Officers and Assistant Woodland Officers with grants, regulation work and all aspects of sustainable forest management. You’ll join a supportive, knowledgeable team, and we’ll provide a tailored learning and development plan to support you.

Placement opportunities are available within our Conservancy teams across Scotland. Roles are full-time (35 hours per week), however as a flexible employer, we’re happy to consider alternative working patterns. We offer hybrid working, giving you a balance of time in the office, working from home, and being outdoors visiting sites.
