We’re looking for a Renewable Energy Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Development Team on a fixed term basis for 3 years. Beyond this period, there may be an opportunity for extension or permanency.

We are flexible on base location although regular travel to our Edinburgh and Inverness Office will be required. Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) plays a significant role in Scotland’s renewable energy landscape, with around 1.3GW of operational generation across the national forests and land, and a growing pipeline of wind, hydro and long-duration energy storage projects.

Our Energy Delivery Team is responsible for the commercial and financial oversight of this portfolio, ensuring income is accurately calculated, reported, and maximised to support FLS’s wider objectives.

As Renewable Energy Commercial Analyst, you’ll be a key contributor to the financial management of renewable energy schemes across the FLS estate. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, finance colleagues and external operators, you’ll analyse operational and financial data, reconcile income, develop forecasts and financial models, and support commercial negotiations. Your work will directly inform strategic decision-making and help shape FLS’s commercial approach to renewable energy as the portfolio continues to expand.

To be successful, you’ll need experience in financial analysis, forecasting and modelling, along with a strong understanding of financial reconciliation and corporate finance or accounting. You’ll be confident working with complex datasets, communicating technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders, and contributing to the development and improvement of business processes and systems. Strong Excel skills and experience using analytical tools such as Power BI are essential, alongside the ability to work at pace and manage ambiguity.

If this sounds like a role you’re interested in, we’d encourage you to apply with your CV and covering letter – please ensure you provide evidence of the essential and desirable criteria detailed in the job description and success profile.
