A Forest Craftsperson works outdoors as part of the operations team, carrying out a variety of forest management tasks to support colleagues across timber harvesting, environment and wildlife management. Tasks may include:

  • Tree cutting
  • Weed control
  • Fence repair and installation
  • Upkeep of ancient monuments

The team also maintains walking paths, signage, and parking areas, ensuring a positive experience for visitors. This role supports other teams as needed, contributing to timber harvesting, wildlife management, and environmental conservation efforts.

Support is on hand to develop skills and experience through desk and practical courses, practical skill development, and mentorship from an experienced colleague. Operating across five regions spanning the entire country, our dedicated operational teams play a vital role in managing the 9% of Scotland's land entrusted to our care.

Driving will be a requirement within this role; if you have not yet attained a full UK driver's licence, this must be attained within 3 months of commencing employment in this role.
