This interim role focuses on leading and delivering key change initiatives across Investment Operations, including in‑flight project delivery, target operating model (TOM) review and design, systems interface mapping, transaction cycle documentation, and broader operational process improvement. The role requires an experienced operations and business analyst professional, capable of taking ownership of complex projects, collaborating across functions, and driving sustainable enhancements to processes, systems, and controls.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead delivery of in‑flight Investment Operations projects, using project management methodology to ensure milestones are met and risks to delivery are anticipated, identified, tracked and managed effectively.
- Conduct reviews of the existing target operating model, identifying optimisation and automation opportunities.
- Map end‑to‑end Investment Operations processes, interfaces and transaction cycles across internal and external systems.
- Develop business and functional requirements to support system upgrades, integrations and operational redesign.
- Undertake UAT testing, define go-live criteria and implementation readiness for in-flight projects.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the Investment Operations landscape including API, SFTP and workflow automation.
- Engage stakeholders across Finance, Risk, IT and third‑party administrators to support delivery outcomes.
- Produce project documentation, operational procedures, insights and materials for governance forums.
- Lead or support operational deep‑dives into reconciliations, transaction flows and control points.
- Contribute to strengthening operational controls, governance structures and reporting mechanisms.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong Investment Operations background with understanding of trade, settlement, pricing and reconciliation processes.
- Experience of working in a unit pricing environment for a life insurer or professional services provider including hands-on systems experience with an Investment System (e.g. InvestPro, pControl, HiPortfolio).
- Experience in project delivery or business analysis within financial services.
- Ability to map processes, define requirements and support system change initiatives.
- Experience designing and enhancing operational controls and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and communicate recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.
