We are seeking hard-working, dedicated school cleaners with a ‘can do attitude’, to work in our special school. You will work as a part of the team undertaking various cleaning duties throughout the school to ensure our children’s learning environment is always clean.
Start Date: 17th August 2026
Salary: Grade 2 £24,804.00 FTE. Actual salary £6533.08
This is a 41 weeks per year contract (41 weeks per year equates to term time plus 6 shifts at agreed times during the school holidays). You will be working 12 hours per week during term time, working 6:00am - 12:00pm (this will include a 30 minute break) Thursday and Friday, plus a minimum of 33 hours to be worked during school closures.
We would like you to have:
- Experience in cleaning duties and knowledge of best practices in cleaning.
- Ability to work under own initiative without supervision to ensure work is completed and of the highest standard.
- Awareness of the importance of providing a quality service to meet the cleaning requirements of the school.
- Reliable.
- An understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education and your responsibilities for Safeguarding.
- An understanding of Health and Safety regulations relating to the operation of cleaning machinery and materials.
- Aware of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
The Open Thinking Partnership is committed to the safeguarding of children and young people. An enhanced disclosure from the DBS will be required for this post. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to a check being carried out at an Enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Service regarding any previous criminal record.
