Location: Drybrook, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (January β 31 August 2027)
Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable primary school teacher looking for a rewarding role that combines meaningful classroom responsibility with the variety of teaching across different year groups?
Drybrook Primary School, part of the Forest of Dean Trust, is seeking a skilled and committed Class Teacher to join our welcoming and supportive team.
This is more than a PPA cover role. You'll share responsibility for an allocated class for approximately three days per week, taking an active role in planning, assessment and pupil progress. It's an opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils, make a lasting contribution to their learning and become a valued member of our wider school community.
What You'll Be Doing
- Share regular responsibility for an allocated class, including planning, assessment and monitoring pupil progress.
- Deliver engaging, well-sequenced lessons that inspire curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.
- Teach across different classes and year groups, supporting continuity during PPA and leadership release.
- Adapt teaching to meet individual needs, ensuring all pupils feel included, supported and challenged.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and families to help every child succeed.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and your own professional development.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a qualified primary school teacher (QTS) who:
- Demonstrates strong classroom practice and high expectations for every pupil.
- Is adaptable, organised and confident teaching across different classes.
- Builds positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
- Is committed to inclusive teaching and meeting the needs of all learners.
- Values teamwork, professional reflection and shared responsibility for pupils' success.
Why Join Drybrook Primary School?
Our vision is \"Dream Big, Achieve Together.\" We're proud of our inclusive, community-focused school, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.
As part of the Forest of Dean Trust, you'll benefit from:
- A welcoming, collaborative and supportive staff team.
- Professional development and opportunities to share expertise across our schools.
- Access to qualified coaching and professional learning opportunities.
- Membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
- Staff wellbeing support and employee benefits, including Perkbox.
- A Trust that values each school's individuality while encouraging collaboration and shared learning.
