  • Location: Keldy (North Yorkshire)
  • Salary: £12.21 per hour
  • Working Hours: Part time, 23 hours per week.
  • Days of Work: 3 days per week including alternate weekends.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly Keldy team! Be part of creating memorable escapes in one of North Yorkshire’s most peaceful forest settings. Develop your skills while ensuring our cabins are beautifully prepared for every guest.

About the Kitchen Assistant role:

Open all year round, as our Kitchen Assistant you play a pivotal role in our Forest Retreat building, the hub of the location. This is our reception, the first port of call for guests checking in on their holiday. It houses a shop, bar, and restaurant. Opening hours are location and season dependant but there are no late openings which allows a better work/life balance. In this role you must deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest enjoys the perfect Forest Feeling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
  • Pot wash and table cleaning in the café
  • Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
  • Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
  • Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
  • Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
  • Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
  • Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
  • Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
  • Providing assistance to Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed.
