About The Role
Forest Green Rovers FC Academy is going through an exciting period of growth. Our Academy Lead Foundation Phase Coach will be a key part of the team working closely alongside the Head of Academy Coaching to implement and deliver an elite coaching programme for players aged U9-U12, in line with the Club’s coaching and football philosophy. The role will play a critical part in developing the player and the person, with a key focus on maximising the potential for our young players.
What you will do
- Lead the Foundation Phase age groups and manage the coaching staff working within the Academy for ages U9-U12, including coaching provisions, sports science requirements and associated welfare issues.
- Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions in tandem with the Club philosophy and coaching syllabus.
- Manage player activities and attend all stipulated sessions in line with the Academy Coaching timetable.
- Support with the logistics for all training sessions, fixtures, festivals, and Academy events.
- Complete relevant administrative tasks on the Football Intelligence Programme (FIP) including training session records, session attendance, fixtures, Individual Learning Plans and Player Reviews.
- Ensure excellent communication between staff, players, and parents to ensure the optimal well-being and development of all players, alongside providing player performance feedback on a regular basis.
- Support the Pre-Academy Lead in identifying potential players to join FGR Academy.
About You
The Lead Foundation Phase coach needs to be empathetic to young players, possess exceptional organisation and communication skills, be a highly motivated and driven individual, with a desire to succeed and adapt accordingly.
