We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the Forest Green Rovers Catering Team.
This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced setting, whether in catering, restaurants or other sectors.

Shift pattern is generally 9.00am - 5.00pm Mon-Fri, but expected to work all matchdays, which may include Bank Holidays (Saturdays) and occasional evening events.
This role will require a full driving license.

Core responsibilities
- Working with our Head Chef and the team to provide support and help deliver FGR Food across our platforms including the stadium, concourse, Fan Zone and Eco Canteen.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all areas of the kitchen.
- Assisting with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients and assembling dishes.
- Offering general support to the Catering Team during busy periods.
- Work on Matchdays within the Catering Team, primarily based in the hospitality kitchen but scope to expand and learn other areas.
As a valued member of our team, you will be focused on achieving great results and creating the best experience for our visitors and supporters.
Essential skills
- Previous experience in a catering/restaurant environment or a catering qualification.
- A full driving license is required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards would be ideal.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, to cover Matchday fixtures and events.
- Have good communication skills and be able to work within the small FGR Team.
- Work off your own initiative, be creative and think outside the box.
- Passion for supporting a culture that demonstrates the club’s commitment to sustainability, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Culinary qualification (NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.

- This role is subject to a background check and DBS check, prior to employment commencing.
- A high degree of flexibility is needed to work around the busy football calendar.
