Job location: Hartlebury

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Group Transport Compliance Officer to oversee and maintain high standards of transport compliance across our operations. This is a key role ensuring vehicles, drivers, and transport activities fully comply with DVSA regulations, Operator Licence undertakings, and company policies.

You will be responsible for day-to-day and ongoing transport compliance, working closely with drivers, workshops, and management to ensure vehicles are roadworthy, documentation is accurate, and compliance risks are identified and addressed proactively.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Managing vehicle and driver compliance in line with Operator Licence requirements.
  • Monitoring drivers hours, tachograph data, and Working Time Directive compliance.
  • Reviewing defects, maintenance records, PMIs, MOTs, and brake tests.
  • Conducting infringement analysis and engaging with drivers to resolve issues.
  • Maintaining compliance systems, licence checks, CPC records, and audit documentation.
  • Producing compliance reports and supporting DVSA inspections and audits.
  • Working closely with the Transport Team to resolve issues that may arise swiftly.
  • Engaging with rental vehicle suppliers.
  • Fleet management of all new commercial vehicles, including company cars for employees across the business.
  • Key contact for insurance claims and incidents.
  • Carry out incident investigations.

Skills, abilities, and behaviours:

  • Experienced in transport compliance within an HGV or fleet environment.
  • Confident working with drivers and operational teams to drive compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence obligations.
  • Able to analyse data, identify risks, and take corrective action.
  • Well organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and compliance systems (Tachomaster/Samsara).
  • CPC qualification (or working towards) desirable.
