Head of Supply Chain

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Supply Chain to oversee and optimise our supply chain and warehousing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain process from procurement and production planning to inventory control and associated logistics The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing supply chains, excellent analytical and negotiation skills, be a strong people manager and have a proactive approach to solving supply-related challenges.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business goals and improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Work closely with the procurement manager to ensure supplier performance and best value are managed in all aspects of bought in materials and services.
- Collaborate with production and NPD to ensure seamless flow of materials and information.
- Utilise and optimise the Netstock application to oversee inventory management practices to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste or shortages.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors; supporting the purchasing manage in evaluating supplier performance.
- Analyse supply chain data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate logistics, principally inbound shipments, warehousing, and support distribution.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets and forecast material and resource needs in line with production schedules and market demand.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- 5+ years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies.
- Familiarity with international supply chain and import/export regulations.
