Job Details

Wildlife Ranger – Salary: £34,793 per annum.

Vacancy closes Friday 24th July 2026, 23:58.

Location: western part of the forest district; candidate must live within reasonable travel time to Pry Rigg Larder, YO62 5EL.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the district’s wildlife management team, protecting forests and supporting conservation priorities, including mammal management.
  • Champion the health and safety culture by demonstrating the value of 'look out and look after'.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Successful completion of a DSC Level 1 firearms skill test.
  • Pass a criminal record check and the government baseline personnel security standard check.
  • Ability to communicate accurately in spoken English (meeting Immigration Act 2016 requirements).
