As an Active Forests Co-ordinator, you will have the unique opportunity to curate a diverse programme of physical activity, health, and wellbeing experiences in the nation’s forests. As part of the innovative Active Forests programme, your role will focus on creating and facilitating engaging and enriching activities for new and returning visitors. Together, we will enhance the wellbeing of our visitors by promoting physical activity and fostering meaningful connections to nature. Weekend working including bank holidays is mandatory and will be agreed/set on a rolling pattern with the successful applicant. A proportion of your work will focus around the Recreation offer here at Salcey Forest, ensuring our facilities are safe and enjoyable for all visitors. This will include carrying out inspections and maintenance work.

Where you’ll work… Salcey Forest Visitor Centre, Forestry England, Wootton Road, Hartwell, Northampton, NN7 2HX.

How to apply… You will be asked to write a 200-word statement on your relevant experience and career history, along with a personal statement of no more than 500 words. The skills being assessed at interview are: Seeing the Bigger Picture, Changing and Improving, Making Effective Decisions, Working Together. Candidates invited for interview will be asked to provide feedback on a scenario given by the interview panel. There will be time allocated for the candidate to collate the feedback.
