Website Manager – Forestry England
Forestry England is a public body devoted to living, breathing forests.

Key Responsibilities
- Improve and manage the Forestry England website for millions of users each year, driving forest visits and support.
- Deliver new content and functionality, creating usable and accessible digital experiences in a Drupal environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Digital Manager, the development agency and the internal web team.
- Champion the user, placing them at the centre of all developments and ensuring a consistent, high‑quality experience.
- Write, edit and maintain web content to a high standard.
- Train staff and communicate best practice across a variety of channels.
- Use data and user testing to support decision‑making and inform future enhancements.
- Utilise JIRA and other development management tools to manage project deliverables.
- Cover Forestry England’s social media channels a few weekends each year, with time off in lieu.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience delivering content and UX projects, preferably in a Drupal environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and capture feedback.
- Experience training staff and communicating best practice.
- Familiarity with JIRA and other project‑management tools.
- Passion for data‑driven user testing and decision‑making.
- Location & Working Pattern
The role is based at the Bristol office, with a minimum of two office visits per month on Tuesdays and regular Monday working days.
Remuneration & Benefits
Salary
£40,388 pro‑rata (permanent full‑time, 25.9 hours per week).
Pension
Forestry England contributes approximately 28.97…% towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.
Holiday
25 days per year, rising by one day each year of service to a maximum of 30 days (pro‑rated for part‑time staff). Additional days off include bank holidays.
