This post sits within the Recreation and Engagement team in West District. West District is one of six forest districts across the country and is responsible for the sustainable management of the nation's forests in the west and south-west of England, stretching from Shropshire to Cornwall. We have a small engagement team who work together to deliver excellent marketing and communications across the district.

This role will primarily work in the following areas:

  • Worcestershire (our main forest centre Wyre Forest and other smaller woodlands)
  • Shropshire (our main forest centre Haughmond Hill and other smaller woodlands)
  • Bristol (Leigh Woods) and woodlands in the Mendip Hills
  • Wiltshire (Savernake Forest and other smaller woodlands)

This role will be based in our office in Wyre Forest, Worcestershire at least one day a week. A blended working pattern can be agreed with some home working. There will need to be regular travel to our other offices in Mortimer Forest (Ludlow) and Leigh Woods (Bristol).

Alongside your salary, Forestry England contributes an average of 28.97% towards your pension. You will become a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.

You will be asked to write a 200 word statement on your relevant experience and career history, along with a personal statement of no more than 500 words. You will be assessed on both during sifting.
