Senior Estimator – The Company:

Our client is a successful and market-leading regional main contractor with an established reputation across the South West of England. Typical projects range from £2m to £12m in value, spanning residential and accommodation care home sectors.

Senior Estimator – The Role:

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join the pre-construction team based in Gloucester, with flexible working options. You will be responsible for hands-on estimating on a range of tenders for new build construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate net cost estimates supported by market pricing in a timely manner.
  • Meet tender submission deadlines.
  • Consult with the pre-construction team to assess tender suitability and decide on bidding.
  • Maintain estimating resource schedules.
  • Agree on bid strategies, including value engineering, tender structure, and key deadlines.
  • Attend weekly bid meetings and support the team.
  • Prepare bills of quantities.
  • Coordinate with the bid team to send out enquiries to subcontractors.
  • Understand site conditions and constraints.
  • Engage with subcontractors to identify opportunities and chase tenders.
  • Prepare prelims in conjunction with the Operations team.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance competitiveness and margins.
  • Present comprehensive estimates during tender adjudication.
  • Implement agreed changes and collate the final bid for approval.

Senior Estimator – The Person:

  • Solid estimating experience with a national or regional main contractor.
  • Experience in estimating new build projects as part of a pre-construction team.
  • Experience pricing jobs over £5m.
  • Knowledge across residential and commercial sectors.
  • Proven success in winning profitable tenders.
  • Ability to commute to Gloucester.
