This opportunity is with a successful and growing property services contractor delivering Social Housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit and decarbonisation projects across the South West and South Wales. Operating from established Bristol and Newport offices, the business delivers a wide range of projects including energy efficiency upgrades, EWI/IWI, heating improvements, roofing works, painting and decorating contracts, and wider property refurbishment schemes. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are looking to invest in the next generation of commercial professionals and offer genuine long-term career development.
This is an excellent opportunity for either:
- Someone currently completing a construction-related Degree, HNC or HND (maximum one day per week day release)
- A recent graduate looking to start their Quantity Surveying career
- An Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some construction industry experience looking to develop further
Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects and contracts while receiving ongoing support and mentoring. Typical responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with subcontract procurement and administration
- Supporting valuations, variations and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
- Assisting with cost reporting and forecasting
- Supporting the management of subcontractor accounts
- Helping prepare client applications and payment notices
- Working closely with operational teams to track project progress
- Assisting with estimating and pricing activities where required
- Developing an understanding of Schedule of Rates and framework contracts
- Building knowledge across refurbishment, planned maintenance and retrofit projects
This role offers excellent exposure to multiple sectors and provides a clear pathway towards becoming a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor.
The Person:
- Working towards or recently completed a Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
- OR some experience within a Quantity Surveying, Commercial or Construction role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills / Good communication and organisational ability
- Motivated to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying / Eager to learn and develop within a supportive environment
- Able to commute to either the Bristol or Newport office
