Our client is one of the leading Tier 1 UK wide main contractors with a turnover in excess of £900m and an established reputation with an excellent pipeline of work. Typical projects are new build from £10m - £100m+ across sectors. Our client is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager who can strengthen their existing team, delivering a large project in Cornwall. With overall responsibility for the management and success of the project, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations.
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager with specific experience on major new build MEP projects to join the regional team on a major new build project in Cornwall.
Typical duties & responsibilities:
- To manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the company IPCD.
- To manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the Project Process Document.
- To manage the resources on the project on a day to day basis and to report any staff issues as appropriate.
- Manage project commercial issues and cost reporting (WIP).
- Identifying the clients requirements and ensure we deliver these requirements to the clients’ satisfaction.
- Representing the company on any internal or external issues.
- Preparing detailed plans and procedures to administer the project and ensure the project team are familiar with and follow these guidelines.
- Managing all project reporting is provided upstream and downstream on a timely manner.
- Communicate with the project team regularly on project specific matters and company initiatives.
- To manage the project cash flow is positive throughout the life of the project.
- To manage procurement and achieve best value for Engineering Services.
- Identify all risks and manage actions and implementation to mitigate such risks.
- Issuing Health & Safety MDI – Drawing Schedule (PD01) report. Monthly Project Review report and monthly Project Manager report.
You will have worked as Electrical PM for a main contractor or large specialist contractor on new build projects.
Experience of managing a project team to reach completion within budget and to programme.
Experience of managing procurement, labour and sub-contractors.
Experience of controlling contract costs and variations.
Experience of co-ordinating M&E Services installations.
Experience of all health and safety requirements during the contract including compiling method statements and risk assessments.
Compilation and presentation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
Experience of managing contract values ranging from £2m and above.
BTEC: HNC Building Services / BTEC: ONC Building Services / CSCS card/ SMSTS - desirable / IOSH directing safely - desirable.
