Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager - The Role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being involved beyond the commercial aspects of a project.

While the role is commercially led, you will also take ownership of overseeing projects from a contracts management perspective, ensuring programmes, quality, client relationships and delivery remain on track alongside experienced site management teams.

You’ll work closely with the Directors, site teams, clients, architects and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered commercially and operationally to the highest standards.

Responsibilities will include

  • Managing the commercial delivery of multiple high-end residential projects.
  • Preparing cost plans, valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and budget control.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Visiting sites regularly to monitor project progress.
  • Overseeing projects from a contracts management perspective, ensuring quality, programme and client expectations are achieved.
  • Coordinating with Site Managers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with private clients, consultants and architects.
  • Supporting Directors with operational planning and project delivery.
  • Ensuring projects are completed safely, profitably and to the exceptional standards the business is known for.

You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of projects and wants a broader role within a successful, quality-focused contractor.

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.

  • Good understanding of JCT contracts.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
