Site Engineer - The Role

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to join an established delivery team working on a variety of new build construction projects. Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Site Managers and wider project team, you will take responsibility for setting out, technical coordination and ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely and in line with programme. Projects are primarily across the South West, with occasional working away where accommodation and associated costs are fully covered by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate setting out using modern surveying equipment
  • Establish site control, coordinates and levels from design information
  • Check surveys and identify any discrepancies before construction commences
  • Interpret technical drawings and construction information
  • Support site management with planning and technical delivery
  • Coordinate drainage, foundations, substructures and external works
  • Monitor quality and ensure works comply with specifications
  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants and design teams
  • Provide technical advice and resolve on-site engineering issues
  • Assist with temporary works and construction sequencing
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Keep accurate site records and engineering documentation
  • Support delivery of projects to programme and budget

The Person

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer with a main contractor
  • Experience delivering new build construction projects
  • Strong setting out and surveying experience
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
  • Good understanding of construction methods and sequencing
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, organised and able to work as part of a team
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND or Degree preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
