This Assistant Site Manager opportunity is with a leading regional main contractor delivering high-quality residential developments across Bristol and the South West. With a strong pipeline of secured work, they are currently delivering a flagship £50m+ residential scheme and are looking to strengthen the site management team with the appointment of an Assistant Site Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager looking to develop their career on a major project while working alongside experienced construction professionals within a well-structured and supportive team.

Working as part of the site management team and reporting directly to a Site Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day delivery of a large-scale residential development in Bristol. The role would suit an Assistant Site Manager with previous experience on new build housing, apartments, mixed-use developments or main contracting projects who is looking to progress towards Site Manager level.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the daily management of site operations
  • Supporting the Site Manager with programme delivery
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site labour
  • Monitoring health and safety standards across the project
  • Carrying out site inspections and quality checks
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications
  • Managing site records and project documentation
  • Assisting with short-term planning and logistics
  • Monitoring progress against programme targets
  • Attending site meetings and subcontractor briefings
  • Supporting the management of materials and deliveries
  • Helping to resolve on-site issues quickly and effectively
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship throughout construction
  • Ensuring a clean, organised and professional site environment

Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Trainee Site Manager is required, along with experience on residential new build, apartments or major construction projects. Main contractor experience is preferred. Strong organisational and communication skills, good understanding of construction processes and sequencing, health & safety awareness and site management knowledge are essential. Candidates should have SMSTS, SSSTS or be working towards SMSTS, a CSCS Card, and a Full UK Driving Licence.

£45,000 - £55,000 salary
