We build AI technology for the heavy industries. Our AI systems are in factories right now making billions of dollars of decisions per year. We are growing rapidly through the seed-series A stage, being on track to increase bookings 5x YoY. We aim to take most of our initial market (steelmaking) in the next two years while launching in new industries at the same time. We are a world-class product and engineering organisation: our engineers work directly with customers and across the whole technology stack to iterate quickly in a fun, high-trust, but intense environment.

We are now looking for our first dedicated marketing hire. This is a critical role as we scale from a team of 20, aggressively expand in the US across multiple industries, and initiate several new marketing channels.

  • Digital marketing: End-to-end ownership of content creation, digital ads, social media management, and email campaigns. We are open to experimenting more creatively with digital marketing, particularly video and streaming content, than a regular company that sells to enterprises.
  • Product and Customer storytelling: You will create marketing collateral that is focused on our product releases, new feature development, and successful deployments in customer sites.
  • Events and conferences: Attending key conferences and events is a key part of our marketing strategy for heavy industries, particularly steel. You will find and run our presence at industry conferences, technical committees and trade shows. Over time, you will own doing the same across a range of heavy industries beyond steel.
  • Company hosted events: You will organise and run events we host ourselves, from small technical roundtables to larger customer and industry gatherings.
  • Brand and design: You will work with our designers and brand agencies to own how our company looks and feels. This can include potential re-brands, product branding, websites and our merchandise.
  • Other marketing campaigns: You will create and run campaigns across PR, digital, events and partnerships, and new methods that we haven’t discovered yet.

We are looking for candidates who can run marketing campaigns without direction. Some examples of things we will look for:

  • You have a track record of creating and executing extremely successful marketing campaigns using at least one major channel, such as PR, digital, social media, and know how to measure impact.
  • You can use both data analysis and your creative instincts.
  • You have exceptional aesthetic taste. Design experience is a plus.
  • You are an exceptional writer and communicator. If you have written scientifically or have a successful blog, we would love to hear from you.
  • You are comfortable and good at writing technical prose.
  • You are creative and resourceful. You know how to make things happen with limited resources and are excited to experiment with unconventional formats and channels.

For this role and all others, we are looking for people with the following attributes:

  • Exceptional ability: Whether in work, school, side projects, or elsewhere, you will have demonstrated exceptional ability. We are open minded about the exact form this takes. Some examples we look for: You have played a key role in an early stage startup; you have won hackathons, music, sport, math or other competitions; you have an impressive side project, like a popular blog or open source library.
  • Excellent communication: in speech and writing.
  • Conscientiousness: You want to do good work, regardless of oversight. You are excited to have freedom to work without too much process and friction, but at the same time, excited to share ideas and work closely with others.
  • You’re excited to work in the metals industries, and everything that goes with it. That means excited to travel, spend time in massive factories, meeting and working with a wide range of people.
  • You are comfortable working in uncertain and dynamic environments.

Apply by emailing careers@scrapchef.ai. Please include - in your CV or in the body of the email - a list of 3-5 things you have done that you are proud of and that are relevant to the attributes we are looking for. Where possible, please include links to your work, such as GitHub, YouTube, or portfolios. We will do two or more telephone screenings. At least one will be with the CEO. You will work on something real with the team.

How to prepare for a job interview at Foresight Data Machines Ltd

✨Know Your Stuff

Before the interview, dive deep into the company’s AI technology and its applications in heavy industries. Familiarise yourself with their products, recent news, and any case studies they might have. This will not only show your genuine interest but also help you tailor your answers to align with their goals.

✨Showcase Your Creativity
