This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager to join our growing team. The position will support all businesses in the Group, in a fast paced and fascinating industry.
The Position
- Manage the bid process from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and all proposals are completed to a high standard.
- Coordinate proposal responses, working with commercial, technical, finance and delivery teams to ensure proposals are accurate, complete and well-written.
- Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve effectiveness of bids.
- Monitor and report on bid activity, providing regular updates to senior management on status of current and upcoming bids.
- Conduct research on competitors, market trends and client needs to inform bid strategy and approach.
- Coordinate and plan client presentations/visits required as part of the bid process.
- Drive continuous improvement, through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers.
- Collation of data from various sources to prepare and manage Management Information requirements for clients and contracts in a timely manner.
- Creating reports and dashboards to communicate data insights to stakeholders, including senior management and department heads.
- Maintaining and updating databases and other systems to ensure data integrity and carry out regular data audits across the Group.
- Collect, analyse and interpret data to identify trends and patterns.
Key Requirements
- Proven ability in bid management delivering complex product and services opportunities.
- Ideally has a background in solution selling and experience of bid management from opportunity identification through to project delivery, and will provide valuable input into value proposition development, opportunity qualification, win strategy, commercial discussions, and solution delivery.
- Confident in use of various IT systems and portals, and in data interpretation and presentation.
- Proven team leadership skills in office-based and virtual work environments.
- Must be an excellent communicator and comfortable working at senior level (internal and external customer).
- Will be conversant with the competitive marketplace.
- Sound commercial understanding and profit and loss experience coupled with risk management skills.
- Has the ability to manage complex, multi-work stream opportunities.
- Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures.
Security Clearance
Due to the highly sensitive nature of forensic casework: Security clearance is required. Applicants must have five years' continuous UK residency. Criminal convictions may prevent clearance from being granted.
