UK NACE Academy Instructor

When you join our friendly, high performing team in this unique new role you'll focus on preparing and delivering high-quality technical training and presentations to members of FCDO Services, our government partners and specialists working for friendly foreign governments. Using formats that meet the diverse needs of your students and acting as a dedicated Subject Matter Expert in a subset of the technical training portfolio, you'll ensure that courses are kept relevant and up to date by incorporating details of new technical vulnerabilities and changes to the threat environment into the material we use.

Dedicated to developing a broad knowledge of the technical subjects we deliver and committed to maintaining your own professional skills and expertise in the latest technologies, you'll also work with NACE inspection teams to carry out operational duties and facilitate the transfer of best practice. Always ready to engage with stakeholders to ensure that technical training needs are taken into account, we'll also expect you to work with other National Technical Authority areas to deliver services and increase our capabilities.

To be a success in this vital role you'll have experience of delivering Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) services within Government or industry, a Level 3 qualification in a STEM related discipline, and be eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Highly motivated and a natural problem solver, you'll possess the ability to translate technical requirements and specifications into easily understood business concepts, and the communication skills to tailor your delivery to a diverse range of audiences. Experience installing or maintaining technical protective security systems is highly desirable, as would is an interest in relevant practical technical skills such as electronics, IT, networking and programming.

This role will focus on the delivery of awareness level training courses including Aided Physical Search (APS), whilst also developing a broader range of technical security skills through shadowing and being mentored by experienced colleagues., you'll be expected to work towards an industry recognised 'Train the Trainer' qualification, such as a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
