Responsibilities:
- Coach and develop staff in project management principles and techniques.
- Create an environment where teams identify and implement efficiency initiatives and innovations to reduce cost of delivery.
- Mentor and bring out the best in staff as a line manager.
- Hand-on ensure effective delivery: schedule projects, major work packages and milestones.
- Establish supply chain for each project, contribute to pipeline forecasting and certify optimal resource usage.
- Monitor finances for your projects and ensure they stay within budget; do the same for direct reports’ projects.
- Ensure projects follow the FCDO Services Project Process Map and the FCDO Services Health & Safety policies, processes and procedures.
- Develop strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, ensuring that project KPIs are met and feedback remains positive.
- Spot opportunities to repeat or create additional business from existing and new customers.
- Draft, tender and manage NEC4 or similar construction contracts.
- Responsible budgeting, cost control, financial tracking and reporting.
- Apply strategic risk management: identify, assess, prioritise risks, lead mitigation and escalation.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety standards and procedures including Construction Design Management 2015.
Qualifications:
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RIBA, RICS, ICE, CIBSE or APM) advantageous.
- Awareness of Project Management products such as M_o_R, MSP and M_o_V.
- Experience delivering projects overseas or in a secure environment.
