Human Resources Administrative Officers – Milton Keynes

We lead the UK’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world. We employ around 17,000 staff in our global network of 281 offices worldwide. Our UK-based staff work in King Charles Street in London, Abercrombie House in East Kilbride and in Milton Keynes.

Your role with us

We’re currently looking for talented and enthusiastic people to join our Human Resource (HR) Services department, and provide high quality administrative support and corporate services to our organisation. Your work will be customer-orientated and essential to the successful delivery of our objectives, and involve a variety of service functions including pensions, recruitment, payroll data management and internal and external communications.

When you join us, the department will configure your role to meet specific business needs, but it will typically include creating and maintaining electronic filing systems and working on databases and distribution lists. You may also deal with telephone and email enquiries, help to organise meetings and events, and undertake corporate roles such as fire warden or first aider, for which training will be provided. We might also ask you to provide project management support, which would involve monitoring progress against objectives, ensuring a project remains on schedule, anticipating and managing risks, and maintaining accurate records.

Who we’re looking for

To be a success in this vital role you’ll possess good organisational skills, take responsibility for your own work and be committed to high standards of customer service. It’s important that you have strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills, with a particular focus on the use of Windows 10, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word) and mailbox management.

Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will make you a highly motivated and collaborative team worker, and we’ll expect you to have excellent analytical and planning skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should also be capable of making effective decisions, identifying problems and proposing solutions to maintain a quality service.

You must be a British citizen at the time of your application, and you’ll be required to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
