Your role with us
As a member of the Finance Operations Services department, you will provide seamless administrative support and corporate services to FCDO colleagues both in the UK and around the world. Committed to developing your skills and knowledge, you will take ownership of internet banking requirements and use financial systems such as Oracle to process transactions and receipts, seeing to it that every entry is accurate. This will include checking invoices to identify any mismatches, reconciling payments and calculating and paying pension benefits. You will also be entrusted with monitoring budgets, raising purchase orders and issuing invoices, and you will handle credit card issues, ensuring they reach a successful conclusion.
With administrative duties to take care of - such as organising meetings and creating databases and distribution lists - we will also need you to offer astute project management support. This could involve a range of duties such as monitoring progress, helping us identify and mitigate risks and maintaining accurate records. Regardless of what you are doing, you will be committed to delivering the highest level of customer support, making you an integral part of our team.
Who we are looking for
To be equal to the demands of our fast-paced team, you will be a highly organised individual with the ability to prioritise your workload, and deliver tasks on time. We are looking for analytical individuals who want to develop their careers with us, so if you would like to learn about everything from commercial and procurement policies through to compliance procedures, you will thrive with us.
Proficient in the use of Windows 10 and Microsoft Excel (including Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel) you will be quick to learn. Crucially, you will be a numerate individual, and you will have good verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable making effective decisions, you will enjoy coming up with solutions to problems, and you will have a sharp eye for detail. You will also be a British Citizen, and you will be willing to attain Developed Vetting security clearance.
In turn, we can offer you a fascinating career path, with the scope to support both national and international priorities. With the option for hybrid working, you will need to spend at least 60% of your time in the office, but we are willing to discuss flexible arrangements to accommodate your lifestyle commitments. We will also provide you with a desirable benefits package including access to a generous Civil Service Pension.
If you are ready to get your career off to a flying start, with the support of a team who want to see you excel, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
