Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used in wastewater treatment plants, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair pumps, valves, pipework, and rotating equipment
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Support shutdowns, inspections, and fault finding
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
  • Complete maintenance reports and documentation

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter (ideally in water/wastewater or industrial environments)
  • Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, valves, and pipe systems
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • CSCS card (preferred for site-based roles)

Desirable

  • Experience with water utilities such as Thames Water
  • Confined space training
  • Experience in MEICA environments
