We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Precision Tool Fitter to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will take great pride in their work and be responsible for mechanical assembly, testing and acceptance of tool units that produce foil caps at rates of up to 750 per minute. Typically a tool unit takes around one week to complete, and the fitter builds and tests the complete unit from start to finish. The units are incorporated in our range of bespoke capping and sealing equipment sold worldwide. The average tool unit will be used for up to 25 million cycles in its lifetime before reconditioning. The ideal candidate would have press tooling or precision engineering experience combined with excellent machining and hand fitting skills. All components for the units are pre-manufactured prior to the start of the build. On units being refurbished a certain amount of rework of existing parts may be required. The build requires machining skills including surface grinding, honing, turning and milling to close tolerances. While the majority of the build is assembly, all employees in this role currently have a tool-making background; although this is not essential it gives an idea of the level of finesse required to perform the role effectively.
