Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions for Full‑Time Programs, the Senior Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment serves as a key contributor to the management, evaluation, and growth of the Full‑Time MBA (FTMBA) program. This position plays a critical role in generating revenue for the Gabelli School of Business by supporting enrollment growth, candidate conversion, and admitted student yield for one of the School’s flagship graduate programs.
This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of the admissions process for the FTMBA program, with a strong emphasis on data‑informed recruitment strategy, pipeline management, and yield strategy. The Senior Assistant Director partners closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the program attracts, evaluates, and enrolls high‑potential candidates aligned with the academic and professional standards of the Gabelli School, while responding strategically to shifting market dynamics and enrollment trends in the highly competitive landscape of graduate management education. This position will require occasional weekend and evening work, as well as domestic and international travel.
Essential Functions- Drives the growth and direction of the FTMBA program by monitoring enrollment metrics, application trends, and pipeline health to inform proactive recruitment strategies.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including the Faculty Program Director, Career Services, and Student Success Advisors, to ensure admissions strategies align with program outcomes and academic standards.
- Supports tuition revenue goals by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve applicant conversion, enrollment deposit rates, and financial aid strategies to enhance overall class yield.
- Develops and manages strategic recruitment pipelines by building and sustaining relationships with undergraduate institutions and professional associations to increase qualified applicant flow.
- Counsels prospective students on the value proposition of the FTMBA, providing detailed guidance on admissions requirements, program structure, and career outcomes through individualized outreach and communication.
- Partners with marketing and communications teams to develop recruitment materials and support campaigns that enhance program visibility and drive engagement throughout the admissions funnel.
- Supports recruitment engagement initiatives by representing the Gabelli School at domestic and international recruiting events, information sessions, and small‑group interactions to cultivate candidate relationships.
- Manages the full admissions lifecycle by conducting holistic evaluations of applications, assessing academic performance, professional experience, leadership skills, and career trajectory.
- Contributes to the final admissions decision‑making process by conducting candidate interviews and participating in committee discussions across the graduate portfolio.
- Optimizes the use of the Slate CRM system to track applicant progress, maintain data integrity, and analyze enrollment data to monitor pipeline health and conversion trends.
- Executes personalized yield strategies for admitted students to improve conversion from admission to matriculation through high‑touch engagement and individualized guidance during the decision‑making process.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an admissions, recruitment, or related area.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills; excellent diplomacy skills to handle complex situations with multiple stakeholders, strong interpersonal and team skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make admissions recommendations in a competitive admissions environment.
- Master’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training/and/or working knowledge of graduate management education.
- Experience managing user‑facing technology applications (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, etc.).
- Experience working with a diverse group of peers, faculty, administrators, and graduate students.
- Experience recruiting for highly selective graduate business programs in a competitive enrollment environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume candidate engagement while maintaining a personalized, relationship‑driven admissions approach.
- Minimum Starting Salary: $80,000
